Important terms explained briefly
You should be familiar with the following terms and abbreviations for the expert knowledge examination:
- BewachV = Security Ordinance
- BG = Employer’s Liability Insurance Association (general abbreviation)
- BGB = Civil Code
- BGV C7 = Obsolete accident prevention regulation for guard and security services
- BMA = Fire alarm system
- DGUV = German Social Accident Insurance
- DGUV Regulation 23 = Successor regulation to BGV C7 (accident prevention regulation)
- DIN = German industrial standard (set of rules)
- EMA = Burglar alarm system
- GewO = Trade regulations
- GMA = Hazard alarm system (collective term for BMA, EMA, ÜMA,…)
- ÜMA = hold-up alarm system (often part of the EMA)
- NSL = Emergency call and service control centre (“alarm receiving centre”)
- RC = resistance class (English, cf. “WK”)
- RFID = radio frequency identitification (“radio chip”)
- StGB = Criminal Code
- StPO = Code of Criminal Procedure
- UVV = Accident prevention regulation (cf. “BGV C7”)
- VBG = Administrative Employer’s Liability Insurance Association
- VDS = Association of Property Insurers
- WK = Resistance class (new: “RC”)
- WKS = Guard control system (e.g. “Deister”)
- ZKS/ZKA = Access control system/access control installation
